Sophia is one main reason that our company has landed on the Best Places to Work in Phoenix list for the last 6 years (Arizona Business Journal). She is the best loan processor at our company – hands down. Sophia has a unique ability to manage multiple clients at the same time while making each individual client feel as if they are the only one we have. Her ability to work swiftly and accurately as the conduit to my clients as the processor of their loans has blossomed and she continues to “up her game” as our business grows. She juggles many responsibilities, which are embedded inside The Barnett Team's Passionate Loan Process. Her joyful attitude and sense of humor with our clients helps us achieve that “home” feeling we strive for when closing the biggest debts of our borrower's lives.

Sophia spent most of her formidable life in Southern California, but the valley became her home in 1994. She lives in the new Avondale area with her fiancé and her daughter Marlee. Sophia has an experienced background in customer care, which has helped catapult her into an amazing asset to my team. Her thirst for knowledge keeps her on the leading edge and she has helped me to continue my climb as the leading expert in the mortgage industry.

Stephanie assists me in my day to day activities with clients and business partners. She strives to keep the close contact with our clients, providing excellent communication and world-class service. Stephanie is a very driven individual who juggles multiple roles within our office as well. Often candid and outspoken, her ability to rise to the challenge to ensure our level of service is one main reason she is a valuable asset to my team of professionals.

Stephanie was born and raised in New England but moved here with her family in 1996. She has a large family consisting of three brothers and one sister and credits them with her perseverance as a child. She currently is focused on obtaining a degree in psychology. Her loyalty to her work and achievements personally shines through with unparalleled commitment to volunteer work throughout the valley. Stephanie is also an active model, with many published credits to her name. She enjoys the outdoors and sports related activities to pass her spare time.

Melissa Vasilev began in the front office of the lending industry but her unique pulse on details quickly moved her into the residential loan processing unit where she gained experience, knowledge and confidence over the next nine years as a Processor. With the wealth of experience she now enjoyed, it was natural for Melissa to make the transition to a wholesale mortgage underwriter, including a DE with FHA. Her success as a loan underwriter has fostered her growth of an integrated approach to watching over her clients.

Melissa decided to move to the front-side of the mortgage industry and become a mortgage loan originator in 2003. When deciding to move, she found that State Mortgage, a W.J. Bradley Company, had one of the best reputations as a mortgage broker/banker and chose to work with them. She has been an originator for over five years. Melissa’s strength is in understanding relationships, whether with Realtor partners, underwriters or title companies, and her passion is to provide strategic financial solutions for her clients and make sure they are completely comfortable throughout the entire financing process. She is the ideal compliment to Jim’s business model.

Melissa’s experience and background leaves no area of mortgage lending unknown. With a background in processing, sales, underwriting, and closings, she holds a strong advantage in our current marketplace. If the situation exists, chances are she has already encountered it and knows how to resolve it. Her goal is to educate and guide you through the mortgage lending experience by giving you straight answers to all of your questions.

Melissa is married with two children and enjoys playing musical instruments (39 of them!), hiking, fishing, mountain bike riding, and the occasional spa day in the little spare time she allows herself. In addition, she also instructs aerobics and has achieved a black belt in traditional Kung Fu. She is a native of Arizona, growing up in the Glendale area of the Valley. She attended Northern Arizona University and received her BA degree from Arizona State University.
